This adventure deserves a page all of its own!  On our last full-day in Vietnam, our pre-scheduled Halong Bay trip was canceled....and we were forced to look for something else to do!

Why not take a Vietnamese Cooking Class?

It wasn't at the top of my list of things to do.....but Jenesa found it highly-rated on TripAdvisor, and we decided it would be a fun morning activity.  So, here we have posted some of our photos taken on our cooking lesson.....starting with our trip through the Old Town markets to our finished product(s) three hours later!  It was actually a very worthwhile and nice experience....and the food wasn't too bad either!

(Beginning our market journey....)

(Slicing bamboo into containers)

(Raw fish....blood and all!)

(The Aflac duck!)

 (Take your pick....fresh juicy seafood)

 (A view of market street)

(Assorted chicken parts!)

(Appetizing plate of BRAINS)

(Eggs....be careful which ones you buy!)

(Slimy eels...how many do you want?)

(Colorful Spices)

 (A buffet of pig!)

(Grilling breakfast in the street!)

(Goodbye turtle...you'll be soup very soon!)

(Turtle torture gone WRONG! A bloody mess)

(Jenesa picks out some grapes)

 (This chicken ain't going anywhere!)

(Time for a refreshing glass of Sugarcaine Juice)

(Vietnamese seats...Jenesa takes a break!)

(Chef Tien)

(Slice & dice all  the ingredients....and this is what you get!)

(Mixing the spring roll ingredients)

(Rolling up the spring rolls....like a pro!)

(It took Jenesa an hour to chop this stuff up!)

(It's ALIVE!  The beak was moving!  Scary!)

(This is a cooked baby duck from an egg....and I ate it!)

(Chef Tien slicing through the pork)

(Pork patties roasting on an open fire!)

(Chef Leonard dicing the meat....I'm just a natural at this!)

(Firing up the chicken stir-fry)

(The nicest looking stir-fry we've ever made!)

(Almost finished the main course....just add the spring rolls!)

(Finally finished our cooking class....thumbs up all around!)

(And, dessert!  A coconut full of alcohol!)
