We spent our first night out on the town in Shanghai.....a beautiful city at night! The buildings are very modern and the downtown area was buzzing with people.....almost as many people as NYC boasts at Christmas! We booked a trip on the Shanghai by Night cruise ship and spent an hour on a roundtrip sightseeing ride.
The very next day we visited the Bund and took some daytime snapshots of the amazing city skyline. So far, Shanghai is the only 5-star city we have visited on this trip. Beautiful buildings. Amazing landscapes. Less traffic. We did enjoy the city of X'ian....but if you're looking to travel to a big modern city in China.....we recommend this one (I'll be interested to see how Hong Kong compares to Shanghai when we get there)!
